Flooded Room Simulator

A finished-basement home office starts completely dry. Toggle the flood on to watch water rise from the floor all the way to the ceiling, completely filling the room at the maximum depth.

Normal room

The room is dry. Start flooding to begin the simulation.

What changes as water rises

Furniture is drawn with reinforced frames, supports, feet, hardware, and layered shading. Different objects react according to their height and simplified buoyancy rather than all moving at the same time.

RugDarkens, loosens, and begins lifting as water gets underneath it.
Storage boxesCardboard boxes shift, tilt, and can float or partially collapse.
Office chairRolls first, then becomes partly buoyant at greater depth.
Desk objectsPapers and small items can be carried off the desk if the water reaches them.
BookcaseLower shelves become submerged while loose items can lift or drift.
ElectronicsThe visualization marks when water reaches low electrical equipment. It is not a safety-clearance calculation.

What the simulator is showing

Water depthVertical depth of water on the room floor.
CurrentControls how strongly floating objects drift sideways.
ClarityChanges how transparent or muddy the water appears.
ContaminationAdds dirty-water color, particles, and a health-hazard warning.
Electrical powerIf ON, the floodwater becomes a shock hazard once it reaches the wall outlet height.
Floating objectsObjects begin moving only after the water reaches enough of their height.
Electrical arcsVisual warning only. The whole connected water is highlighted as hazardous; real current is not uniform and may not visibly spark.
Dirty waterMay contain sewage, chemicals, microorganisms, sediment, and sharp debris.
